THIS IS A TRUE STORY:

FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS

Wildlife Mingling
September 18th, 2012 Time 1:15 PM.

The night before this amazing story began we received almost three inches of rain
and it was to keep raining till midnight or after. There was also a gentle wind blowing,
softly tossing some leaves to the ground.
It was still raining lightly the next day as I sat here reading emails on my new computer, while my husband Joe was watching television.

Suddenly he tapped my shoulder and said
"Oh look out there, down in the field".
There standing in the rain was a doe grazing and watching her two youngsters,
playfully chasing each other.

~ ~ As we watched these deer I moved closer to the patio door and looked further down into the field. There to our amazement were five wild turkeys.
One brave young fawn also saw them and slowly walked towards the flock, checking them out nose to beak. The turkeys did not run and neither did the fawn.
The mom deer and her other fawn walked over towards the turkeys
and believe it or not, there was this awesome sight to behold. Three deer and five wild turkeys mingling together.

The turkeys would ruffle their feathers,
but that did not seem to bother the deer.
The young fawns running and playing didn't seem to phase the turkeys either.

But wait - oh my, another sight to make us smile.
Slowly, one, two, three, four more deer came walking out into the
field from the far edge of woods. Now there are seven deer and
five wild turkeys mingling together in the open field.

When I first moved here thirty one years ago,
I used to watch a herd of eighteen deer grazing and playing in this field.
Over the years the herd decreased and I would only see a couple of deer.
Today is the first Joe and I have seen seven deer together.
But the amazing part is the wild turkeys hung out with them.
Gradually they moved on, heading up into the mountains.
while the deer grazed awhile longer before heading down to the creek.

This will be a picture in our memory for ever.
Close your eyes for a moment-can you picture it?
Once again God has shown us how truly magnificent nature can be.
