'PICTURES ARE WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS

MOVING ON FROM WEBTV TO COMPUTER
MY STORY

November 1998 was the year that I first heard of the (LBB) WEBTV
and how much fun a person can have on it. Over the next thirteen
and half years I came to the realization of how true this was.
Over those years I made many email friends
in this country as well as in other countries.

With the help of
very special friends I learned how to make signatures
on my emails and I loved doing it.
I learned how to add midis to each email.
I joined chat rooms and had such a fun time with others
chatting about anything and everything.
And it was in one of the chat rooms in those early
years that I came to know Diamondavid from Iowa.

When David learned
I had been writing poetry since 1972 and won many awards
and had some poems published, in May of 2004 he said,
"Hey" let's make a page or two with a couple of your poems on them".
From that time until June 2012,
we have a built an awesome website,
which is located at the bottom of this story for you to cllick on to visit.

In it are many useful help sites.
There are stories and poems that I have written
over the years since we started the website.
Living on a mountain
led me to write stories about all the black bears
that visited here, as well as many other wildlife visitors.
Because God has touched me spiritually over my life time,
there are stories and poems relating to those experiences
in hopes that you would be inspired.
We Put together a "FAITH" site:
(There Is A Plan For You and Me).
Visit us there and be inspired by the many sites listed.

Yes, they were good years and I enjoyed every moment on my Webtv.
However in June of 2012 we were hit by lightning and we lost
many material things including my webtv.
But every day Joe and I thank God
that there was no fire in the garage
when it melted one garage door opener, shattered the cement
and the lightning traveled down to the house.
I had a backup WebTV. The WebTV worked but
for some reason it would not stay on.
The electrician we had stood right by me
and watched how it worked.
I got my server and into MSN,
retrieved an email and BAM - it would shut down.
The electrician said it definitely was not an electrical problem.

Yes I miss it very much. Oh there were problems
with it when it wouldn't load some things
or would slow down, and a million
phone calls made to MSNwebtv techs.
But as my dear friend Steve Luke,
who enjoyed his webtv said one day,
it is time to move on.
What he wrote me is below and we hope it
will help other webtv users
whose time will come when webtv won't be anymore to move on.

WRITTEN BY MY FRIEND ~ STEVE LUKE ~ Oregon

Yes, I know that you miss your webby, sometimes I do too.
But then I remember all the things I can do with my computer..
It was great when everything was point and click...
but with a computer you have to do a bit more to get what you want.
But try to remember that with the computer
there is so much more you can do
and so many more places you can go.

The webby did what it did in a good way,
It was preparation for us to get on the computer,
and it did it's job well...
but when the time came to make the change,
it was easier than if we had not had our webtvs.
So we should be thankful that there were webbys that helped us
make that bridge over to the computer eventually.
So it is time, to wish them well and move on...

We won't forget the good times we had with our webbys,
but now it is time to have some good times with computers.
All we need to do is figure out how to do all of the things
that a computer can do. We will, it might take a little while,
but we will...

AND I HAVE
