"QUESTIONS ABOUT LOVE"

It is said love conquers all. But my thought is
It would depend on each person's version of love.
To some love is an overrated concept.
But we must keep an open mind and an open heart.
Love can touch the inner soul, or it can leave a chilling void.
If the pounding heart all but stops, is it love?
If the mind sets off a romantic song, is it love?

Can we love someone at first sight?
Or must time first unfold the secrets and goals we want to accomplish.
Love is not the sexual desire instantaneous. Love is the inner-self,
reaching towards an unknown realm. It is a commitment,
a compassion to always be there for a person.
To never be unfaithful, but to be honest, sincere, devoted unconditionally.

When the sun rises over the horizon, and you look into each others eyes,
the beating heart flutters like a bird that takes wing.
And when the sun sets, and life nears the end, the heart still beats,
even though the mind and body slowly fades.

The concepts of love, are very different.
Love can be laughter that shines through a storm.
Love can be dreams fulfilled.
Or it can falter and we must move on.
Love can be given freely as in a good deed done.
It can be given to a child when they are taught
to respect the people around them.

Love can be embraced when someone is in pain, or afraid of dying.
Love is nurtured, and grows, and if it should happen it is not returned,
Just knowing you have given of yourself is all that is needed.
There is no price tag on love or compassion.
It can't be bought or sold, unless you allow it.
If it is, then someone else is in control.

Love can be as simple as giving a single rose,
or a gentle hug, or a passing smile.
Or it can be a deep passionate kiss.
Love really can conquer all, if given from
the heart and we expect nothing in return.

But wouldn't it be nice if it was returned, some where in time.

An Email friend, Ed Kassirer (poet and writer) from California, wrote this about love and it impressed me very much. Well thought out and written:

Well Barb, what a subject. You know, mankind has come up with so many words, that really don't have meanings in our human concept,
such as always, ever, never, time and love. They are but fleeting thoughts, visions, feelings that stem from the ever changing mind, that is influenced by any and everything that moves or SEEMS to move.....
and we can think about, or write about love for every waking moment of our lives, and NEVER really capture it, it defies explanation, as it is all things to all people at all times, and yet....
some don't have a clue what it is...many are in love with the THOUGHT of love, to love or to be loved, to feel love, to share love and to be ever changing, like a leaf tumbling with the breeze, a snowflake fluttering from the skies,
we are, as Bob Dylan said, blowin' in the wind.
Yes, we are a complex machine, us humans, feeling in our hearts
what is controlled in our minds, and never really have a concept of which end is up !!!
It is sure a fun subject to ponder, and, needless to say,
many have made MILLIONS writing and singing about it, and yet,,,,???
